About

Hi, I’m Ciar, a writer, blogger and fledgling garden designer. I live in East Sussex in the beautiful South Downs. I have an RHS Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Horticulture, and a garden design diploma from the English Gardening School, but I still have a lot to learn!

Carrots and Calendula started off as a blog about my garden, but as I am the proud new owner of a very overgrown allotment, in 2022 I am going to track the journey of restoring Plot 1a.

I will also be giving monthly updates on my garden at https://thehalfwildgarden.substack.com/

You can find me on Instagram and Twitter @wildecarrot

I have enjoyed gardening since an early age!

Great that you can get your kids off their screens and into the garden. Looks like you’ve got lots of space in your gardens to play with!
